The Simple Life by Tara Sivec • FMR REVIEW

BLURB:

*A standalone romantic comedy with a lot of heart*

Brooklyn Manning thought her life was perfect in every way until it crumbled down around her and turned into a dumpster fire. With her pride wounded and her tail tucked between her legs, she leaves New York and goes back to her tiny hometown of White Timber, Montana. No more twenty-four-hour taco trucks, no more shopping at the best designer stores within walking distance, no more giving taxi drivers the finger when they angrily honk at her. She didn’t think it could get any worse. But then Clint Hastings walked into the room and insulted her. Her arch nemesis from high school is no longer a nerdy computer whiz, masturbating to pictures in PC World magazine in his free time (allegedly). He’s grown up to be a hot-as-hell cowboy, and she has no other choice but to be a smart ass right back to him. After all, it’s what they do. It’s what they’ve always done, and twelve years apart hasn’t changed anything. Only this time, getting under each other’s skin is a hell of a lot more fun than it used to be.

Review by: Flavia

Oh my word, this book was just what I needed, some fun light reading.
Brooklyn is living the high life. She has everything she has ever wanted. A boyfriend, an awesome job and living it up in New York. Until a little hiccup happened. Now she is back home, a tiny little town in Montana, where the shops close at like 6pm at night and that's it.
She's back home recovering from what happened in New York and also looking after her dad. So he got her a job, babysitting on her once best friend Ember's farm. The farm where her arch nemesis (But actually she was in love with) also lives. Now Clint is also home living on the farm and working the farm with his two little girls. Oh and one more thing, Brooklyn doesn't like kids!!

Now that Brooklyn is home is this Clint's chance to finally admit his feelings for her. Or will she up and leave again once the dust has settled in New York. Or will she finally admit that she has always been in love with Clint and settle down to the quiet life?
This book was funny, sweet, adorable and the chemistry between Brooklyn and Clint was steamy hot. I loved their banter and the two little girls were too cute for words. Definitely a five star read for me.
