ab·so·lu·tion by Ava Harrison • RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW

Title: ab·so·lu·tion: a novel
Author: Ava Harrison
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 6, 2018

I was done with love.
When I opened my heart, it was for the men I couldn't have.
The unattainable ones.
The ones who would hurt me.
A vicious cycle I couldn’t seem to stop.
But I had a new resolve.
Focus on my career.
Stay single.
And then I met him.
Jace Montgomery.
A wounded widower with two young kids.
He was exactly everything I was avoiding.
So I did my best to stay away.
But then he kissed me.
And I fell.
Hard.
Hard for a man who would never be mine…
A man who was broken beyond repair.
A man who would break me.

Ok, so I have to say that it took me a while to get over my dislike of Jace. He had suffered a great tragedy and been through a lot, however, it didn’t give him licence to be a tool.
Sydney is a beautiful soul who is struggling with her journey in life and love. She has not suffered to the same degree as Jace, but she has had her own crosses to bare.

As time goes on Jace does redeem himself and become likeable but he has a lot of issues to work through.

If you take the sex out of the equation this is a slow burn romance at its best. It is full of misunderstandings, miscommunications and discovery. It is a story about timing and possibility.  Although the main topic of the story is loss, the bigger message is all about love, hope, redemption and moving on. There are no quick fixes in this tale. Any recovery from the past comes with eye opening moments and hard work and there is plenty of that going on.
I did finish this book in 1 morning because it was all consuming and the relationship between Sydney & Jace was really just fascinating and then when you added in Jaces kids it just took it to a whole new level.
From start to finished I was hooked and could not put it down!

This was a brilliant emotional read and worth taking time to read it!

This is a book that will pull at your heartstrings. Kids in a book is kinda like my kryptonite.  They can easily sway my feeling for a book whether it humorous or sorrow, which this book is the latter. The author did a great job at pulling out those emotions. By the end of the story, I really enjoyed the characters. Jace was tough one to love but slowly as his layers peeled away you knew he was a good guy. I loved that Sydney never gave up when she had plenty of opportunities to just move on. As far as the relationship developing, it was a slow burn. The connection was there but there was a lot of build up for all that to finally bloom. All that made for a rewarding read. We did get a standard romance ending, while not a bad thing, it was just what I was expecting. I enjoyed the story very much and I thought the writing was fantastic! I recommend anyone who is looking for a heartbreaking yet beautiful story to pick this one up!.
