You know that pact you make with your childhood best friend of the opposite sex? The one where, if you’re both still single, lonely and hopeless at thirty, you’ll marry each other?

This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to make good on that pinky promise.

Personally, I think love, romance and all of that nonsense is a crock of, well, you know. And Reese Collins, the boy who used to put worms in my hair at backyard barbecues, knows that better than anyone.

But when he moves to the same city I’ve happily, and singly, inhabited for years, memories of oaths past resurface. Reese is like a dog with a bone; a really hot dog and that bone just happens to be me.

He won’t stop hounding me, and the crazy thing is, my frigid, traitorous heart is starting to cave. For my best friend.

It seems so far off, when you’re a kid playing Monopoly in your treehouse. But when that clock strikes midnight on your thirtieth birthday, and you’re standing alone in front of a grocery store-bought cupcake, a childhood deal to walk down the aisle doesn’t seem so silly anymore.

Review by: Leeann

This was a very entertaining story about two people who made a teenage pact and now have to decide if they are going to go through with it or not!
Erin is a bit of a lost soul, she just doesn’t realise it. She has a job that she doesn’t love but goes to because it was what she thought her dream was, she runs her own successful business on the side and she has a best friend that would quite honestly lay down his life for her.
Reese is in love with his best friend, and it is obvious right from the beginning of the story. He is far from having everything he wants in his life and he knows it.
Together these two are hilarious. The banter between them is constant and extremely entertaining. I have to say I was never bored!

This is one of those books that funny banter aside, the main characters need to have their souls laid bare and ripped open, their hears shredded and go back to the bare bones of life to be able to heal and move on. Life happens and it is not always pretty but it is how you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and embrace the lessons being taught that allows the optimistic future that lays at your feet.
Some people learn this quickly and it takes a little while for others to catch on. Erin is one that takes a while to catch on but when she does, the outcome is spectacular!

Well worth a read!!

BLURB

Tucked away at the base of the Rocky Mountains lived a little boy with one singular dream: leave this broken and battered home and become someone. Be somebody’s hero. That boy was me—Colby Brooks. Except I’m not that same little boy anymore. My dreams might still be the same, but my reality isn’t. I’m smarter. Stronger. A man. And I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost. Focus. Resolve. Determination. But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed. One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks. Smart. Charming. Beautiful. Rory changed everything. Quickly, my one-track mind started to bend. Each kiss faded decade-long dreams. And with one single incident, I fly off course.

Review by: Erin

OMG!!!! There are so many tears! What an incredibly emotional story. I loved everything about this book. The characters were engaging. The storyline was amazing. The way their relationship progressed was phenomenal. I loved the letters. The hardships they have both faced shaped and molded these two characters into people that anyone would be lucky to have in their life. Neither are broken. Cautious, sure. Guarded, absolutely. That is what makes them incredible. No rushing into the deep end for these two. Simmer, to a slow burn. The end really threw me. I cried and cried. Then I cried some more. I was ready for book two as soon as I read the last word. This is one that I will be stalking until release day! A definite Top Read for the year.

Wow! I just finished this book and tbh I'm in shock!!!!

This story is about opening up and trust! Colby has a dark past with demons and dark shadows that hover over him daily! He lives life with one goal ...to fly planes! Nothing else has ever mattered than to make this dream a reality until Rory! She works her way into his life and breaks down the walls and gets in where no one ever has but like all stories life takes these two on a path as is the path their own in sync or will the ground fall apart and leave them back where they started????

I loved Colby and Rory and I cannot wait for book 2!!!! I need answers and am completely shook and want to know what happens next for these two!

Loved this story and can't wait for the next one!

EXCERPT

Head turned down, pushing the sleeves of his white Henley up his arms, he swaggers toward me. His jeans hang low on his hips, held up by the same brown belt he wore the other night. His narrow waist directs my eyes to the center of his jeans, and I can’t help wonder what might be behind the crotch of his pants. And then there is his chest. Barrel like, broad and prominent. His thick biceps showcase his strength, and the fabric of his shirt stretches over his shoulders and forearms. Having spent a lot of time at the gym, I’ve seen every body type, but Colby’s is different. He’s strong, built, but not like a body builder. His body seems to suggest the only kind of weight he’s been lifting is his own body, pushup after pushup. I can’t imagine there being barbells in his workouts, but I can imagine logs, cadets, and heavy machinery. He has working muscles, the kind you earn from hard, dedicated work on the field. In a word? Impressive. Walking up to Stryder, he grips his friend’s shoulder and says something into his ear. A smirk crosses Stryder’s face before he moves over to our side of the bowling alley and takes Colby’s place. Is he leaving? Already? Might as well at this point. It’s not like he’s going to talk to me, not after my pathetic attempt at a bet. I should have known I was going to hang out in the gutter all night. It’s where I usually am when I’m bowling. I blame the ball. The thing has a vendetta against me. Sighing, I prop my chin in my hand and watch Stryder expertly toss his ball down the lane, getting a strike . . . once again. And just like every other strike, he pumps his arm up in the air and celebrates. We get it, you’re good, no need to— “Hey.” That voice . . . Stunned, eyes wide, not able to move, not wanting to scare him away, I keep my eyes trained forward, soaking in that beautifully deep voice of his for a brief moment before saying, “Hey.” “Can I sit here?” Still keeping my eyes trained forward, I say, “Sure.” My body tingles with awareness of how close he is to me, that fresh laundry scent invading my senses, prickling the little hairs on my arm. My body leans toward his, wanting a little more, searching for anything else he might give me. I don’t know why he’s choosing to engage me in conversation, but I’m sure as hell not moving while he does. “Sorry about tonight,” he says and he actually sounds sincere. “Why are you sorry?” I mumble. Reaching around, he takes my cheek in his hand. The callouses on his palm rubbing against my skin is a welcome sensation. As I’m turned toward him, I steady my breathing. I’m having a hard time slowing my heart rate because of his close proximity, and the unexpected touch shooting a wave of heat through my veins. “I’m sorry you didn’t get to ask me any questions. I didn’t think you were going to suck that bad.” A playful smile tugs at his lips, and my heart sinks to the floor. Oh God, he’s so gorgeous, especially when he smiles. Matching his smirk, I say, “I didn’t think I was going to suck that bad either.” “I feel bad.” “You should.” That garners a laugh, deep and throaty, the sound cloaking me like a shield, protecting me from the outside world, bringing me into a little bubble where we are the only two that exist. “Ask me a question.” Shocked, I swallow hard and say, “Really?” He nods and holds up his fingers. “You get three.” “Oh, three? Wow, I feel like you just gave me the key to your soul.” Rolling his eyes, he adjusts his stance on the barstool and leans back, giving us some space, our knees still knocking into each other. “Easy killer; it’s just three questions.” “Yeah, three questions I didn’t have before.” Tapping my chin, I try to think of good questions, but now that I have him willing and waiting, nothing comes to mind. I wasn’t prepared for this, he caught me off-guard, and now I feel I can’t be strategic about my probing. “Hmm . . . what do you like to do on the weekends?” “Jump,” he answers. Searching his eyes, lips quirked, I say, “Uh, you’re going to have to be more specific than that. What kind of jumping are we talking here? Like jump roping? Because that seems kind of weird to do on the weekends, and if you tell me you’re in some kind of jump-roping club at the academy, I’m not going to believe you.” His lips curve up as he scratches the side of his jaw. “Jump out of airplanes.” Oh. Oh. That’s . . . Uh, that’s really hot. “So you just casually jump out of airplanes?” “I’m part of the Wings of Blue, the academy’s parachute team. We jump every day, at least two to three times a day after class and before dinner, depending on wind and ceiling limits. On the weekends, some of the guys, including Stryder and me, go to Springs East Airport and do civilian jumps. The more jumps we get in, the higher the chance we’ll be considered for big demonstrations, like parachuting into football games and major sporting events for the Rockies and Broncos.” Ummmm. Did anyone else just hear how many words he gifted me? And seriously? Does the man have no clue how incredibly sexy he is when he talks about something he loves? The expression on his face . . . “Wow, that’s . . . that’s really hot.” I chuckle. “Sorry, I don’t mean to fangirl over your parachuting, but I guess I wasn’t expecting that answer. You just jump out of planes?” He slowly nods. “Every day.” “Anything to get you up in the clouds, huh?” “Yeah,” he answers shyly, rubbing his jaw. “Okay, next question.”

This isn’t a story about a love triangle. There is no triangle involved.
This isn’t a story about an accidental pregnancy. Although having a baby with her . . . I would.
This isn’t a story about lies and deception, even though at times I’ve lied to myself.
No, this is my story.
A story about sacrifice.
A story about a man who fell in love with the wrong girl.
A story I wish I never had to tell.
This is a story about the true meaning of the downside of love.

Review by: Leeann

Wel,l I have to say, I honestly did not think Ms. Dallas would be able to top ‘When Nothing Is All You’ve Got” but my lord she did, and she did it with spectacular class and creativity.

Grace and Ink have lived a life you could not even imagine and I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I am not going to say much more about them directly.
Kirsty Dallas has created two characters that have spirit, soul, and fire. They are smart and loyal and they strive to do the best they can for everyone involved.
This story is fast paced, raw, confronting and at times a complete mind F….! It keeps you on your toes and has you wanting to read through without interruption.

I would say that this story is not for the faint-hearted in fact at times, it felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest with anticipation of what was going to happen next. But it is a brilliant work of fiction and it really did leave me wanting more. I wanted more of Ink and Grace, I wanted more of Hadley & Fury I wanted more of everyone!!
The messages in this book are complex and honest and it leaves you feeling very thankful to be born into the world we are and also wondering, does this stuff really go on somewhere in the world? Is there some kind of hidden government secret underworld that no one knows about? I think that is the beauty of this story. The author has managed to open up my imagination and let it run free for the period of time I was reading the book right up until I had to return to reality at the end!

I absolutely loved Grace and Ink’s story and was not disappointed at all in the beginning, the middle or the end. I loved the whole lot! Very,  very worth one clicking and then hiding away from the world for a few hours to read in peace and be transported into Liberty

Review by: Leeann

The first thing I did when I finished this book and jumped on to Amazon to see what else this Author has written because I was left wanting more at the end!

Thea is an amazing character. She is a single mum & has built an amazingly fulfilling life for herself and her daughter. She is tough, independent and feisty.
Logan is self-assured and oozes old money. But he is very far removed from your stereotypical rich boy. He is a loving caring man who has the world at his feet. Now he just needs to work out how to keep it!

This is a story about hope, trust, and change. Change is good and some say it is better than a holiday. But sometimes change can be unsettling and overwhelming. This couple experience all the highs and lows of a new relationship and what I really enjoyed about this story is that yes, there was angst but it was never directed at each other. This couple genuinely cares for and love each other. There is a twist and you won’t pick in a million years who the villain is! The love that is shared between these two people is almost tangible. It leaves you with a feel-good moment at every interaction. It is the kind of love everyone wants to experience, that once in a lifetime kind. The biggest test for this couple, is can they really have it all? Can they overcome all of the obstacles in their path to obtain the dream or are they going to be forever fighting what seem to be insurmountable battles?
Well, I could tell you, but that would take away all the experiences you get from reading the story yourself!!

What a sweet romance story. I really loved it.
Thea was just your ordinary girl, she hasn't had a good start in life. But she is strong and sassy and confident in herself. Logan is a privileged lawyer who runs his father's business. But he is also out to make the company a better one than just your ordinary rich man's business.
Thea and Logan met when he came into her bar one night and they had a one night stand. Thea never imagined how her life would change when she let him. Logan lost track of Thea, as when he met her he was very busy at work and eventually when he went back for her, she had quit and moved away. They thought they would never see each other again.

Now in Montana on a business transaction, he can't believe he ran into her again, but also that she has something of his that he didn't know of. A 6-year-old little girl, who is so freaking cute and adorable, you can't help but fall in love with her.
How is this going to work, his life is in New York, and Thea and Charlie's life is in Montana. Maybe this is his chance for his happily ever after, so maybe this is one transaction that will not be so easy for him to close
This was a sweet, beautifully written romance story. Two characters who would never have met, if Logan didn't go to the bar, meeting and setting a course that changes both of their lives for the better or not?? Definitely a story I can recommend if you love heart-wrenching stories that definitely ends up with you having a big smile of content when finishing this one.

He stared at me for a long moment. “You’re sure she’s mine?” “She’s yours.” “Then that’s good enough.” “I—really?” I blinked. He didn’t want to verify paternity? He just . . . trusted me? He nodded. “Really.” “I swear, I tried to find you, Logan. On my life, I swear it. But the hotel wouldn’t give me your name no matter how much I begged. And you paid cash for your drinks and never mentioned your last name. I tried, but I just . . . didn’t know where to start.” “It’s not your fault. I believe you.” The sincerity in his voice made my throat burn. Goddamn it. I was going to cry. I’d worked so hard not to cry today. I’d fought to keep my emotions in check and my head from spinning out of control. But this was going to make me break. I wanted so badly for Logan to believe that I hadn’t kept Charlie from him intentionally. The fact that a man like him would trust someone like me without proof meant more than he’d ever know. “Thank you,” I choked out past the lump in my throat. “So, um, is Charlie inside with your husband? Or boyfriend?” The urge to cry disappeared and I barked out a laugh. “Smooth.” He chuckled. “It’s been a long day for me. Give me a break, will you? This morning I was in New York, then I came to Montana for a business meeting and discovered a daughter. I’m off my game.”

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestseller Vivian Wood

Cynic. F*ck up. Outsider.
That’s Jameson in a nutshell - not to mention drool-worthy, dreamy, and perfect fantasy object.

He’s also my older brother’s best friend and business partner.

I’ve had a thing for Jameson ever since I was old enough to have dirty dreams. My brother has made it crystal clear that if he catches rough, wrong-side-of-the-tracks Jameson even looking at me, someone will get hurt.

That doesn’t deter me, though. I want Jameson to be my first.

And that’s why my brother can never find out what happened.

Because Jameson kissed me.

No -- not kissed -- he shoved me up against a wall, possessed me, and took my breath away. Then he promptly passed out in my bed, wasted.

Now I know that Jameson wants me. I may be off limits because of my brother, but that kiss is branded in my mind.

I need another taste of Jameson.

I crave his brutal touch. Pinned against the wall, gasping at the feel of his body pressed against mine, crying out in pleasure and pain while he gives me everything I’ve dreamed about.

As long as my brother doesn’t catch on, Jameson might just give me exactly what I want… and a whole hell of a lot more.
