Synopsis:
Edwin Allen Mercer I want them all to read my words. And they do. Every last blood-stained sentence, they've read and praised me for. They love the gore and violence, the realness. And I get a sense of power with it all because I know a secret: the victims in my books—they’re real and have all died on my table. And maybe that’s why the last book had such awful reviews. Murder is, after all, a dirty little thing. Some can stomach it. Others can’t. My answer to those reviews: find a woman to co-author with. To be the next pathetic character in my book. Pity she’s so pretty. Miranda Cross All I’ve ever wanted was to be successful as a writer so when I was offered the opportunity to co-author a book with my idol, EA Mercer, I jumped at the chance. He’s beautiful and a literary genius, but something about him makes my stomach knot. And maybe it’s my overactive imagination making my hairs stand on end when he walks up behind me. After all, these wicked little words we’re typing are only fiction. They’re only fiction...

At an early age, he began writing short stories having been inspired by reading books authored by RL Stein. His maternal grandmother’s bookshelf was filled with literature that inspired his young mind and cultivated his vivid imagination. Upon graduation from high school, his desire to have a 20-year military career was cut drastically short by an improvised explosive device. Taking the life of his commander, and leaving the remaining four-team members badly wounded. After careful consideration and multiple surgeries, he along with the guidance of his doctors made the decision to amputate. It was the only surgery he ever left with a smile on his face, as if a weight had been lifted. He struggled for two more years through 4-5 hours of physical therapy a day, five days a week to get adapted to his new prosthetic. He medically retired from the Army with high hopes. His focus on restoring his physical shape being the most eminent battle caused him to neglect his psychological state. Meeting people was difficult and there were very few options for veterans to utilize that would stimulate friendship, and ultimately, allow communication barriers to be breached. After moving to Tampa, Florida, he co-founded the veteran community sports nonprofit, VETSports, with two other combat wounded veterans. It was their mission to change the way veterans transitioned back to civilian life through organized team sports, community involvement, and leadership opportunities. After being invited to attend a photoshoot with acclaimed photographer Michael Stokes, he flew to California in December of 2014, with incredible excitement. His photos were so widely publicized that he soon gained exposure to the literary world like he had always dreamed of. That opportunity launched him into his present writing career. He co-wrote the novel 'A Lover's Lament with author KL Grayson. The following year he released first solo novel, 'Into the Nothing' and will be releasing Wicked Little Words with author Stevie J. Cole. He is now writing full-time.

I SEE YOU BY MOLLY McADAMS • BLOG TOUR, REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

Title: I See You
Author: Molly McAdams
Genre: New Adult

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams’ powerful new novel offers one of the most memorable love triangles in fiction since Twilight—perfect for fans of New Adult fiction like Jamie McGuire, Abbi Glines, and Tamarra Webber.
What if…
Aurora Wilde’s life feels like a series of what ifs, forks in the road, and doors unopened. What if she hadn’t gone to the party that night? What if Jentry Michaels hadn’t captured her interest, or disappeared the next day? What if Declan Veil hadn’t been there to sweep her off her feet?
And as she goes down the list to make her perfect forever, Aurora is happy with her life and a future that seems completely secure. Until, one day, suddenly it’s not. Now she’s stuck between the man who has been there for her and the one she never stopped thinking about.
As the consequences of each of her choices comes to a head, Aurora begins to realize that, sometimes, one tiny decision can ripple through a life and change everything. But when what once felt like a safe and reliable future becomes something else, will Aurora have the courage to make a final decision that could alter the course of her entire life?

Review by: Amy C

"And if I disappear tomorrow? As long as you don't disappear tonight." Aurora " Rorie" Wilde is nothing short of sweet and calm. No feathers ruffled and easy going. When one night of spontaneous changes everything that she believes in for love and life, she's left trying to figure out if it's just a dream or a reality she can't stop thinking about. Meeting Declan sure wasn't in the plans but the best things in life can't always be planned. Just like meeting your boyfriends family can't possibly be something so new and so familiar all in one. Until spontaneous meets reality and the rash may be far worse than planned.

Jentry isn't easy going. He's protective and stubborn and is convinced he's not fit for real love and commitment. He's worried about his family and coming back from his tour. He also can't stop feeling that his one night of "forgetting it all" before he left months ago didn't imprint on his soul forever. She blew in like the wind and captured him into a state of sheer and complete lusty love...feelings he never thought possible. And now she's standing in front of him and he's not sure what to do.

I liked this book and it baffled me all at the same time. I was not crazy about all the parts and back in forth on the time line. That was confusing and had me re-reading for clarity which I feel took away from loving the story. I thought the story line over all was cleaver. The characters were defined but their symmetry in the book was hard to place. I love Molly's writing and stories but this one was hard for me.

Review by: Tatia

This one was tough to rate. I gave it 3.75 simply because of the storyline. It's one that I would normally devour. It's the execution that caused such a low rating. At about 50% in, I felt like I needed to find a notepad and pen and start over at the beginning. This story was nothing but back and forth, not between characters, but between the timeline. That's what was confusing. I found myself questioning what happened at a month ago, 3 months ago, during present day, 10 months ago. I started mixing up what happened when. I wish it had been done completely different. The storyline was in typical Molly McAdams style, but not the flow. I would have preferred so much more if we got all of the back story at the same time and if it flowed through the months into the present day and then continued on with the story and what was happening now. It just didn't sit well with me. Instead of feeling like we got a complete story, I was left feeling torn. I loved some of the characters, especially Jentry. But by the end, I still felt like I was missing key details.

3.75 Stars

He reached for me, but I shot my hand out in a silent plea for him not to. I was already shaking from keeping myself from him. I didn’t want to think about what I would do if he touched me now.
The past was standing right in front of me, begging to be seen. As if I had ever stopped seeing him. As if I had ever pulled myself from the embers of that night. That night was a dance of flames that had no ending, only respites. One touch from him and those embers would roar to life again, burning hotter and higher.
I wanted it.
I couldn’t allow it. Not now, not with everything going on.
I dropped my head and took quick steps to leave the closet, but Jentry’s arm shot out to stop me, his hand curled against my waist possessively.
“Aurora—”
“Don’t. Please don’t.”
He ignored me and pulled me against him so my side was pressed to his chest. My body trembled as those flames got higher. But with the flames that guilt grew and grew, threatening to cripple me.
“You hurt, I hurt,” he reminded me. “And, Aurora, seeing you like this and not being able to fix it is killing me. I’m sorry for what happened. I’m so damn sorry, and I’m sorry I wasn’t here sooner.” Each word was laced with pain, echoing the aches in my heart and my soul. “But you are out of your mind if you think it was easy for me not being here. I have regretted letting you go, every minute of every fucking day. If I could do that first night all over again I would, and I would’ve been there for you. I would have been here.”
The tears that had filled my eyes finally slipped free at his words and the memory of that night. “But you did let me go, and no matter how much we beg time to reverse, it won’t.”
His body deflated against mine as regret leaked from him. “No, it won’t. But I’m here now. I’m here, and we’re going to get through this.”
So much indecision and confusion wove through me. Wants and needs at war with one another as they had already been for an agonizing amount of time.
My heart had bled out through each battle until I’d made a life-changing decision, a decision that Declan and I didn’t speak of, and one that Jentry still didn’t know. Now any move I could make from here on out would be the wrong one. I was sitting in a minefield, waiting.
Just waiting.
“I tried to forget that night,” I whispered before I could stop myself. “I tried to forget you, but somehow you embedded yourself so deeply into my soul in just one night, that forgetting you—forgetting that night—was impossible. I don’t need a lifetime with you to know that no one and nothing will ever compare to what’s between us. But it’s too late for anything involving us even if it’s just us getting through this, because that night and you are now some of my biggest regrets.”

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

Beard Science

by Penny Reid Winston Brothers #3

Publication Date: October 11, 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Humor, Romance

  beardscience

Make a deal with the devil and you might get what you want, but will it be what you need? Jennifer Sylvester wants one thing, and that one thing is NOT to be Tennessee’s reigning Banana Cake Queen. Ever the perpetual good girl and obedient daughter, Jennifer is buckling under the weight of her social media celebrity, her mother’s ambitions, and her father’s puritanical mandates. Jennifer is officially desperate. And desperate times call for Cletus Winston. Cletus Winston is a puzzle wrapped in a mystery covered in conundrum sauce, and now he’s in a pickle. Despite being convinced of his own omniscience, extortion by the exalted Banana Cake Queen of Green Valley has taken him completely by surprise. So… what’s a maniacal mastermind to do? Likely, the last thing you expect. ‘Beard Science’ is the third book in the Winston Brothers series, is a full-length romantic comedy novel, and can be read as a standalone.

Oh, Cletus how do I love thee...

I am slowly falling in love with all the Winston Brothers and Cletus is my current crush! Actually, I was excited for Cletus's story since the last book. I just love all the Cletus-isms. He just had me laughing out loud! But Cletus is a very complex man so it was great to see that side of him. It just added another element to the story. Jennifer, as a love interest, kind of surprised me. At first I was a little skeptical about her but then she grew on me and I could totally see these two hooking up.

Penny Reid has this amazing ability to create a fun but complex, dramatic story that just captures you from the first page. All the way to the end I was just in awe with the story and the author. The story was really well written with an amazing storyline and even more amazing characters. This book is a must read and if you haven't read any of the Winston Brothers, they are all a must read!

CLE-TUS WINSTON is now one of my favorite male characters ever!! For reals that man is as back hills, red neck, pick up truck driving and all around weird mountain man as the stereotype pegs. I mean he is a walking cliche and I LOVE him all the same. Penny is a genius at making me fall in love with her leads...EVERY TIME. I had not read the other two books prior to this one and really had no need to. CLETUS stands alone. He's as amazing as a lightning bug fluttering on a hot summer night, and as maddening as a blizzard in winter. Bring a sweet young Jennifer Sylvester into his realm and watch  his head spin almost clear off his neck!!

Jennifer & Cletus are so unlikely that watching them develop throughout this book was pure magic. My back hills mountain man met his match with the banana cake queen!! She needs his backbone to learn to stand tall and he needs her gentle spirit to help soften him up. Add in all the wacky Winston clan and is book was sooooo swoon worthy and just plain Southern madness all wrapped up.

I just loved this book so hard that I may, or may not, have gone back and read all the books associated with the Winston clan!!! Yes, I had too. I had to know how they all came to be. How each one contributed to the weirdness of the compound and really when exactly Cletus showed up into the fold. I just Love is laid back demeanor and over all matter of fact personality. I love how Jen just fit right in perfectly next to him. All prim and proper and underlyingly just as backwards as he is! 100% recommend this book, loved the whole Winston clan and recommend reading pretty much everything Penny Reid has her hand in because its GOLD!!

LOVED this book!  The character development was phenomenal.  Both Cletus and Jennifer came off in previous books as these kind of forgettable back group characters but, really they were these amazing complex characters.

Cletus and Jennifer were complete opposites yet absolutely perfect for each other.  Their story flowed so smoothly and kept me completely engaged from start to finish.

I loved Cletus's growth and throughout this book and his complex mind.  I feel like we haven't seen the last of him and his many plans for all the folks in his small town.

I was so excited to read Cletus story and to see it's Jennifer Sullivan OMG!!! I love how their friendship builds to romance and it's in so much detail and layers than is to Penny's style of writing! Warning this is a long book but once you dive in you never want it to end and you find yourself wrapped up and falling in love with them! I love the innocence and depth that Jennifer has to her and Cletus opens her up and together they see things on each other no one else gets to see. Their chemistry and bond are undeniable and I loved seeing it bloom.  I found myself loving Penny's style of writing and how she weaves everything  together effortlessly!

I read this as a stand alone and I truly wish I started with book 1 but you can read it as a stand alone and love it for what it is....greatness!!!

4 Stars for Beard Science by the amazing and talented Penny Reid !!!!

About Penny Reid

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing). By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.

Review by: Gina

So, the whole political romance had me intrigued from the start. This was my first one and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. These are two characters who have a little bit of history. Both their parents were in politics so that's how they first met each other. From there, the story continued to get better. There were humorous moment, sweet moments and some pretty steamy moments that kept the story interesting. While the story dabbled in the political talk it's main focus was the romance. While the story had a forbidden aspect to the story, I wish there was a little more drama that played with that forbidden idea. Overall, this story was fantastically written, with a great storyline and intriguing characters. I am looking forward to the next!

I don't even know what to say about this book.
Katy Evans is one of my favorite authors and this book shows just how versatile an author she is.
This book is sexy. There isn't any other way to put it. Matt and Charlotte are combustable.
I love the vulnerability both Matt and Charlotte show each other and the secrecy just gives it that touch of taboo.
And of course there's more to come.
Well done Katy, well done.

This kind of read is addicting! I love a good political romance. With everything that is going on in the news about our current political situation, I had been craving a good one! Mr. President was just what I needed.

Matthew Hamilton for President!! No, seriously. Where can we find a current day Matt? Young, energetic, charismatic, determined to change America and make it good again. He's all of these things. It doesn't hurt that he's good looking either. He's sure to get all of the votes from the women in America.
Charlotte never thought she'd have to fulfill the promise she made to a young Matthew back then.  Not until she sees the announcement and gets a visit from someone on his team did she think it would ever happen. She's getting the chance to work hand in hand with not only hopefully the next president, but also her very first crush. She crushed on him when she was 11. Come to find out, that crush hasn't gone very far. There are still traces of that boy in him today. Those traits have just amplified.

"I may be the next president of the United States! I'll be damned if I don't have what I want, and I want you."

Lines are crossed, boundaries pushed, and before you know it you have a possible scandal on your hands. The sneaking around, secret meeting places, sly glances - they all add to the excitement and forbidden element of it all. That's what draws me to these kinds of stories. It's an adrenaline rush that I find myself craving. Ms. Evans gave me everything. She makes it about the politics of it all, but with just enough detail. I never found myself bored or confused. Politics can do that sometimes. Not here! You'll find yourself immersed in the world of Matthew and Charlotte, just hanging on for the ride. It's hot, sexy, and amazingly addictive. I loved getting lost in it!
