Review by: Leeann

What a stunning conclusion to Rafael and Julietta's story.
Betrayal is ripe, secrets destroy and hearts are broken.
Bella Jewel has taken these 2 characters and stripped them raw. She has broken them and made them question everything they thought they knew about themselves and each other.

The biggest lesson they learn is about love and forgiveness although I have to say I thought Julietta was way to forgiving of her mother!

The emotions are high and the action is fierce. Julietta shows just how bad ass she is and how far she will go to protect those she loves. Rafael shows his softer side but we also see just how hard of a man he can really be. He is the head of the Mafia after all and he has being unrelenting down to an art.

This story at times had me lost for words. The audacity of one of the characters had me speechless and the dynamics of the whole cast is amazing.
If you want a book that captivates you into reading from front to back in one sitting then you seriously need to get yourself a copy of this. But you do need to start with book 1 first or it wont make any sense. Trust me though, you will find book1 just as brilliant as book 2.

The characters are amazingly developed, the story line flows effortlessly and I was definitely left wanting more of Rafael and Julietta!
Bella Jewel has ceratinly earnt every one of her 5 star reviews for this series. Well worth the read!

OMG!!! This book! This is the conclusion to the story of Rafael and Julietta. The plots thickens and boy is it addictive! The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. I love the deep connection between these two characters. They make you want to follow their story to the very end. I could not put this book down. Every new development pulled me further into the story. This is mafia romance at its finest.

Review by: Gina

I love this series by Lili Valente!!! While it is super funny, it is also incredibly hot!!! The author switches it up in this book. This time it's a girl who is hired to help the guy, particularly to help the guy to clear up some rumors and get rid of a crazy ex-girlfriend.

I loved reading the text messages between Shane and Jake!!! Those were so funny! Just the banter and flirty between the two was perfect! I though the story was well written and had an interesting storyline. I did find one part to be predictable, but then there were several spots that completely caught me off guard!  Then I thought I was going to have to yell at the author, but it's all good!

If you are looking for a fun but hot read then get this book and check out the others in the series. They are just so fun to read! I am looking forward to what the author does next!

This story was very engaging and had me doubled over in laughter several times. Shane and Jake are very well developed characters and very easy to fall in love with. The storyline was wonderful and flowed effortlessly. There were a few twists and turns that kept me on my toes. The connection these two characters share is beautiful and their chemistry is sizzling. Another great book from Lili Valente.

EXCERPT:

“You’re not a klutz,” I say, guiding her closer. “I love the way you move.”
“Yeah?” She bites her lip, bringing to mind that list of bitable body parts I hope to be getting from her later.
“Yeah,” I say, my gaze fixed on her sexy mouth. “I could watch you walk across a room all day long. Just the way your hips shift beneath your clothes drives me crazy.”
“Real life crazy,” she says softly.
“Real life crazy,” I confirm. “So crazy that on the way up in that elevator, it was all I could do not to flip the emergency switch.”
Her lashes sweep down and back up, heat flickering in her eyes. “And what would you have done after you flipped the switch, dragon?”
“I would have kissed you, princess.” I don’t bother to hide the hunger in my voice. “I would have pushed you up against the wall and kissed every part of you not covered by that sexy as fuck dress. And then I would have gone after the covered parts, just to see how far you would let me go before you told me to stop.”
“And what if I didn’t tell you to stop?” Her tongue sweeps across her lips and my cock jerks hard in my pants, losing the battle against what this woman does to me.
“Then I guess our first time would have been in an elevator.” I pull her closer, jaw clenching as her stomach presses against where I’m hard enough to slay dragons with my cock.
“Good God,” she mutters, her breath rushing out with this sexy little moan that destroys the last of my self-restraint.
“I would have had you up against the wall,” I say, speaking low so my words are for her and no one else. “But first, I would have made you come, princess. On my fingers, my mouth, my tongue. I’ve been dreaming about fucking you with my tongue since I left your apartment that first afternoon.”
“Me, too,” she whispers, arching closer. “But you have to stop.”
“No, I wouldn’t have stopped,” I promise, deliberately misunderstanding her, because I need to make that blush staining her cheeks spread across her entire body. “I wouldn’t have stopped until you were completely fucking useless, Willoughby. Until you’d come so hard your knees were weak and I had to carry you out of the elevator.”
“Jake, I—”
“But I wouldn’t have carried you into the party,” I push on. “I would have hit the ground floor button, carried your fine ass straight into a cab, and told the driver to break every traffic law required to get us to my place in five minutes. Because I wouldn’t have been able to wait more than five minutes to have you, to be inside of you.”
She trembles against me as her forehead falls to rest against my shoulder. “This is so wrong. So wrong.”
“No, it’s not,” I insist. “It’s the rightest thing I’ve felt in so damned long. And as long as you want me, too, I don’t—”
“Oh, I do.” Her words send a fierce wave of relief rushing through me. “I want you, Jake. I want you so much I can barely think of anything else.”
“And I want you. I want to be inside you so fucking bad, princess,” I whisper, my balls aching miserably between my legs. “I want to feel you come on me. I want you naked and wet and—”
“Screw the pictures.” Her breath rushes out as she grabs a fistful of my shirt and pulls me to a stop at the edge of the dance floor, her eyes hungry and wild. “I need to be alone with you, Falcone. Right fucking now.”
And that’s all I fucking need to hear.
Without another word, I wrap my arm around her waist and aim us both toward the cocktail lounge.

Title: Written in the Scars

Release Date: Oct 20, 2016
Add to Goodreads

Falling in love is easy.
Falling out of love is the hardest thing in the world.
And Elin and Ty Whitt are terrible at it.
The first time the local basketball star smiled at Elin, she was a goner. It was just so damn easy to fall for the dark-haired hometown hero with his charming smile and strong, athletic build.
Thousands of sleepy smiles, aimless drives down country roads, and squeaks of the backdoor after a swing shift later, reality hits. And it hits hard. Falling in love was definitely the easy part. Watching it break apart was impossible.
Through the tears, the second-guesses, the memories of a life built together, the world keeps spinning. With each turn comes clarity and hope—sometimes in the form of a pair of muddy boots by the back door or from the words of a wise friend.
When Ty shows back up with a new found determination to put his family back together, Elin's torn between the fights of the past and the possibility of a new start. This is the man that holds her heart, the man she loves beyond anything else. But this is also the one person in the world that can cause her the most pain.
Life’s not always easy. Love’s not for the faint of heart. But with life comes lessons and Ty and Elin have the scars to prove it. But it's their love written in those scars that will hold them together … or break them apart.

Review by: Kim

Oh my gosh this book. I love Adriana Locke! She definitely knows how to put heart, soul and very real feelings on paper so that her readers get all the feels possible.
I'm not someone who cries easily. And crying while reading never happens for me. But...Written In The Scars had me tossing my kindle down and grabbing the box of tissues.
Ty and Elin deal with some very real, very difficult issues and the strain on their long term relationship is stuff that most people walk away from.
The love these two share- sigh worthy. And something worth fighting for.
This book has it all; Love, Loss, Laughter and Romance.
Please read this book, it'll give you a hang-over, but I promise it's worth it.

As soon as the call is ended, my finger is in his chest. “You lied to me!”
“Calm down,” he scoffs, clearly entertained by my reaction.
“I’m not calming down! She called you. The girl that you didn’t do anything with.”
I start to march to the door, but his arm is around my waist, dragging me into his arms. “Will you stop acting like this?” he laughs. “What’s wrong with you?”
My arms pinned to my sides, I struggle to break free. “You are what’s wrong with me.”
“Tell you what,” he says, resting his head on the top of my head. “Let’s make a deal.”
“I don’t deal with liars.”
“I don’t normally deal with lunatics, either, but I’m making an exception tonight, so I guess you can too.”
The complete lack of fear or frustration in his voice calms me a little. I stop fighting to pull away.
“Let’s go in and have dinner with our friends. Then we can go to bed and I will tell you everything you want to know about her.” He plants a kiss to the back of my head. “And if you’re a good girl, I’ll let you have my cock after we’re done talking.”
“I doubt I’ll want it,” I sigh, trying to not succumb to him.
“There you go, lying again,” he laughs. Swatting me on my ass towards the house, I reach for his hand. He laces our fingers together and we head inside.

Review by: Leeann

I always know when I pick up a Jay McLean book that I am going to get exactly what I want from the story.
I know I am going to feel all the emotions of the characters & I am going to go between feeling like I am having my heart ripped out and feeling on top of the world.
It doesn’t matter what she writes, I always get swept up in the momentum of the characters and the story line.
LUCAS was no different, in fact I think this is probably the most emotional book Jay McLean has written to date.  This is a story about a young couple that are always learning
about the world and each other.
Lois is the Lois Lane to Lucas’s Clark Kent. You just can’t have one without the other. This young couple soon learn though, that life rarely turns out how you plan it.
At times I was so emotional reading the words on the page that I just had to stop.
There are a tonne of lessons to be learned through Lois & Lucas’s journey. One of them being family. Family is everything and they will have your back no matter what.
When Lois and Lucas first meet, all Lois has is her dad. Lucas comes from a big family & they happily embrace Lois & her dad as their own. I absolutely loved the dynamic of the
families and what they each brought to the mix. I loved that they all look out for each other in their own unique way.

But the biggest one is LOVE..
Love can triumph over anything that is put in its path. If you have love you have the world. Lois and Lucas are proof of this. This couple have a lot to learn about themselves &
each other but the one thing that never changes is the genuine love they have for each other. No matter what happens with them this never goes away. It is so deeply embeded
into each of their souls that no one can take it away.

I will warn you that you will laugh at a lot of moments in this book but you will also cry, so make sure you have tisses on hand & probably don’t read it in a public place like I did..
It could get akward with the stares you may get because you are possibly sobbing out loud..
I absolutely loved this book. I adored the characters & they were so well developed that it make the story just flow seemlesly.

If you like books with all the feels then you should get your one click finger ready for this one, you won’t be sorry you did!!

WOW!!! What a beautiful, complex, heart breaking, love story!!! I am just in awe with this story. This is such a beautiful friends to lovers romance that spans several years so there is sooo much history that it just makes you feel more. I thought of Lucas and Lois as two opposites ends of a magnet, they just couldn't seems to come together but just one slight adjustment and they would attract. Thoughout the story we get their love, loss, struggles, relationships and family drama and how they overcome all those obstacles. There were several times I got frustrated with some characters but that just put more emotion into the book and really just captivated me. Overall, this book was AMAZING! It was so well written!!! The author gave us details that make the reader really connect with the characters and truly, made you feel! This is a must read for sure!!!

Lucas is by far the best book Jay McLean has given us thus far. The character development was incredible. The storyline pulled so much emotion out of me through out the entirety of this book, I was at the 50% mark and felt like I had read a full length novel already, this book gave you so much.

I loved how much of Kathy we got as we travelled between the past and present. We also got to see another side of Tom, one that gave me more understanding of why he was they way he was in MTF. Their story, their families story was deep and meaningful and filled to the brim with love.

The seriousness of this storyline was broken up with moments of pure comedic genius when we were gifted with Little Logan and Lachlen's sometimes naughty but always hilarious insights and thoughts. With a visit from our favorite More Men to teach another generation the proper way to exact Mayhem this book had me laughing hard and often.

While there was a lot of humor to this story there was also a lot of heavy, emotional, and sometimes painful subject matter. We see parts of Lucas's story in MTF but here we see him and his journey on a whole other level. The love and sacrifices he makes for his family were inspiring. Lois's struggles, insecurities, and ultimately her strength made for beautiful, beautiful read. Her friendship with Lucas is one I envy, the love these two share evolved and grew throughout this entire book making for an exceptional read and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

This book almost killed me. Literally. One minute I'm enjoying a bowl of cereal while reading in the peace and quiet of my home after my kids have gone to school. Next thing I know, I've gotten to a part that has me bawling my eyes out and I've sucked a piece of cereal down and am choking on it. I had to take a break. It was an intense part. Those kind of emotions always get me.

Lucas was a story that I found myself not being able to put down. I got lost in this beautiful, breathtaking, heartbreaking story of two kids that you know are destined to be together. The lines of friendship and just plain fear prevent them from voicing the intense feelings that are bottled away inside of them both.

Lucas and Lois are meant to be together. From the very first meeting, you know these two are destined. Luke's family became Lois' almost instantly. Over the years, they become as close as two can be. They've been there for each other through everything. The teen years find them losing their way a little. So it's on them to remove the shades and find their way back to each other where they belong.

There were so many moments where I found myself with both unshed and shed tears. Breathing breaks had me wondering just how much more I could take. So many times I found myself cursing Jay McLean for inducing such emotions and the situations which brought them on. I usually devour anything she writes. Lucas was no different.
