The rules:
No dating.
No sex outside of the game.
No disclosing the terms of the contract.
Rules were made to be broken, right?
Eight weeks ago I signed a contract. One that seemed like a good idea at the time. A handsome bachelor, luxury accommodations, and a chance to win a prize my family desperately needed. There were some rules though. Lots of them actually. Follow the script, no dating, sex, or disclosing the terms of the deal. After my self-imposed moratorium on men the last year, it wouldn’t be hard to live up to my end of the bargain…so I thought. Until I realized the deal I’d made was with the devil…and I was in love with his dirty-talking brother.

Review by Heather

Cooper wants Kate. Kate wants Cooper. Due to Kate being on a bachelor type reality show run by Cooper's brother, Miles, Kate cannot be involved with anyone else until the show, Throb, finishes shooting but will they be able to keep their distance or take the risk?

I could not put this book down! It was a quick read and really kept me glued to my kindle from the prologue! Cooper is such a great book boyfriend! He's hot and sweet and bossy! Love when he gets bossy. Kate is a great character too down to earth and very kind. Someone I can see myself friends with in real life.

The chemistry between Cooper and Kate sizzles from the moment they meet! I really loved the two of them together so much! Definitely in my top 5 book couples!

The secondary characters were really great as well. The bitchy contestants, Kate's BFF/lawyer Sadie and Flynn the bachelor. I really liked him a lot but felt the chemistry between him and Kate just wasn't there and Vi did a great job portraying that.

This is a must read and I give it 4.5 swoon worthy stars!

Excerpt

Every girl needs three things
1. A flutter in her belly when she meets him for the first time.
Meet Cooper
My lips brush the top of her hand lightly, my tongue sneaking out to fleetingly touch her skin. The brief contact stirs an ache inside me. This woman tugs at something—more than arousal—something that makes me want to slow down time just to spend a few more minutes standing here.
“Did you just…” she stammers a bit.
“Did I just what?”
She squints at me. “You know.”
“Do I?”
“I felt your tongue on my hand. You…you licked me.”
I’d been dying to run my tongue along her neck all evening, although I hadn’t really meant to be so crude about it. It just sort of …happened. “I wouldn’t say licked, maybe just a little taste.”
“So you tasted me?”
My entire body suddenly has interest in this conversation. “I suppose I did. But it wasn’t nearly enough. That brings us back to my invitation for dinner. Tomorrow night?”
“I can’t.”
“The day after then?”
She laughs and shakes her head. The sound makes me smile.
“Good night, Cooper.” She pulls the driver’s side door shut and leaves me standing there…for a full five minutes after she’s gone.
2. A best friend to talk about him to.
Meet Sadie
“And?”
“And I kissed him when we were in his office.”
“How was his office?”
“Really? That’s what you want to know. Not how was the kiss or aren’t you in breach of your contract? How was his office?”
“You can tell a lot about a man by his office.”
I gulp another unladylike sip from my wine glass. “His office was beautiful. Sleek, overlooking the city. It oozed power.”
“Nice. Bet he fucks like he owns you.”
The thought of what he’s like in bed is enough to make me lose my train of thought.
“Go on,” Sadie prods.
I don’t continue immediately.
“You forgot what you were up to because you were thinking of him fucking you like he owns you, didn’t you?” My best friend smirks knowingly.
“Shut up.” I pause. “Anyway, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
“Well, him. Obviously.”
“I wish it were that easy.”
3. A gentleman that turns into a bossy dirty talker in the bedroom.
Cooper – behind closed doors.

“You haven’t even begun to see bossy yet. Tonight I’m going to tell you to do things, and you’re going to do them. When I tell you to open wider, or take my cock deeper, you’re going to listen. You know why? Because since the moment we met, all I’ve wanted to do is make you feel good. Hell, I don’t even need to get off physically. Because I’m going to get off watching you every minute. So, yeah, I’m going to be bossy. Now let’s put the rest of this behind us. Do you want to be with me tonight?”
After that prelude, I nod my head fast. I’m no fool. Who wouldn’t?

COMPLICATED

OMG! LOVED IT!! This picked up right where Conflicted left off. This story is so full of twists and turns that I couldn't put it down because I was afraid I would miss something. I love that all the characters returned and that I got a deeper look at their relationships. I also loved the addition of all of Ethan's friends into the mix. It gave a deeper insight into his character, seeing him as a completely different person around them. Ethan and Mia also get to have a deeper connection because of the new interactions. The new friends brought some comic relief with them. This story is getting so emotional with the way the story line is going. I have to admit that I cried during a few parts of this book. It is rare that I get so attached to the characters that I read about. I am anxiously waiting for the next book. I am also hoping that with so many characters that there will be more books to come for them.

CONFLICTED

WOW! Where do I start? This story has so much detail! I was hooked by chapter 2 and am now anxious to start book 2. The ending was a doozy of a cliffhanger. This story has so many twists and turns that it was impossible to put it down.

Ethan is a man who knows what he wants. He wants out of the life his father built. He also wants Mia, and is determined to have her.

Mia takes a job as an inside source at Ethan's company after her life is basically ruined by her ex. She does not count on falling for the boss. He is not exactly giving her a choice about that. When she decides that she wants as real chance with him, she tries to quit. Her boss wont hear of it and makes plenty of treats to make her see his way.

She cant predict what happens when the truth comes to light.

These characters are so in depth. They are both moody and want their own way. Mia's friends have been her lifeline since her ex. They are there for her and have her back. It was such a great book!

“You’re right. I think we should stay.” I lace our fingers together and head for the car again. “But on one condition.” She’s staring down at our interlocked hands, looking puzzled as hell. “And what’s that?” “That when we get back to the motel, you’ll let me help you with your body inspection.” She looks up at me and rolls her eyes, but doesn’t comment or try to swat me. In fact, she seems like she briefly considers letting me. I bite back a smile. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you might want that to happen.” Now she moves in for the swat, but I capture her hand and jerk her against my body. I’ve had such a shitty night and all I want to do is not feel shitty. Being with Clara does that for me. I want her, even though it’s not Friday. I want her in my car, in the motel room, everywhere. All the time. Every day. Even though I know she’ll get upset, I lean down and let my mouth linger on hers, waiting for her to pull back and end the kiss. Instead, she parts her lips. I don’t know why she does it. Perhaps she feels bad for me. I don’t care what the reason is. I slide my arms around her, press her body against mine, and kiss her deeply. Our mouths move slowly and I savor each breathless whimper she makes. She tastes like tequila with a hint of French fries and the feel of her body heat nearly smothers me in the best way possible. I don’t come up for air until she moans out my name and I have to stop; otherwise, I’m going to rip off her clothes right here in the parking lot.
Review by Cristina

Two random people, Clara McKinley and Jax Hensley hook up one night and because of their encounter on more than one occasions they agreed to be nothing more but friends with benefits every weekend. Both characters have a past they prefer to keep to themselves and because of their home life they hold back from being anything more especially for Clara’s sake. Until one phone call Jax receives and he must leave to go find his frantic disappearing mother. Creating an opportunity to spend more time with Clara he asks her to accompany him back to his hometown in hopes that he can get to learn more about her and possibility more can be established between the two of them.

My thoughts bounce back and forth like an out-of-control bouncy ball. Right and wrong. Fear and want. Heartbreak and happiness. God, if my father could see me now, he’d be so disappointed. He used to call me his Little Spitfire, a seized the day, blue-eyed girl. He said he envied my sense of adventure.

A 3 stars first book I have read from the Nova series. Although it didn’t grab my attention like Kayden and Callie’s story from the Coincidence series there are intense situations that will make you wonder whether to give up, let go, and/or to take a chance on someone that makes you feel safe and comfortable. Complicated or not life is about to take a tailspin for Clara and Jax.

BEST READ SO FAR in 2015!
Jane Harvey-Berrick gives you an amazing story, full of passionate and well rounded characters. Her writing ability is uncanny in this book, it gives you a plot with loads of texture and no fluff. She has managed to take you into a whole new world that you've never experienced before. (maybe some have) Her ability to write has literally astounded me because as far as reading goes, I found myself getting sucked into this new world created in literary form.

The Traveling Man is a story about being passionate and exploring different avenues of that passion, from true love (not insta-love) to what you love to do and of course there's always twists and turns and crossroads. This is not your ordinary romance novel, it's one that will capture your heart and draw you into the story and make you forget everything except for the words formed in front of you while reading.

I feel extremely grateful to Miss Harvey-Berrick, for she has made my heart full of happiness and all sorts of different emotions. She took me away from the craziness of real life and transferred me into a whole new, unfamiliar world and lifestyle that I never understood nor appreciated as much as I do now. We learn quite a bit, I know this because I've taken many things away from reading this book because it was so well written.

It's a 5 STAR READ without question!
The title of my review basically means that this book and many of her others are more than worthy of being placed on bookshelves all over. I would love to see Jane travel up and up bc from my stand point, there's no other direction.
....and I'm more than looking forward to seeing/reading what's next! Thank You So Much Miss Jane!

Review by Amy

Magic- the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious forces….this book was just that…MAGIC. I saw it form the moment Kes and Aimee laid eyes on each other and it didn’t stop through this entire book. I enjoy reading second chance love stories, and this book not only gave me innocent love the first time around but it dazzled me with the insane ability to ruin me the second time.
“Creating magic don’t come cheap” but Jane Harvey- Berrick did just that. She took me to a land of adventure where all my cares could be wiped away with a stroll down the midway or a ride on top the Farris wheel. Where hiding behind the Ghost Train sharing a soda on a hot summer day could lead to more possibilities than one could dream of. Watching a chance encounter turn into friendship and eventually love was just amazing to read.
Kes was dark and broody and extremely loyal. He exuded the carnie lifestyle and found himself thriving on its nomadic traditions and carefree ways. Aimee was the practical lovely that wondered into his carnival and forever into his heart. Together they would form a bond so strong that time and distance could not part. “I love the boy he was. I could love the man, too. I don’t know, and that’s why I have to find out”. DIE RIGHT HERE!!! I was swooning all over at both of these two throughout this entire book. I just loved how Kes too care of her and she did the same for him.
This book was absolutely fantastic. It brought me back to a place in my childhood that was safe and whimsical. It showed me to once again to feel the magic of the carnival and all that it has to offer. “You’ve got your Ferris Wheel close to your heart”… and Aimee did. The Ferris wheel represent the ability to soar over everything and every obstacle to find that one thing in life that you can hold onto…love . I recommend this book completely!! It was a 5 star read for me for sure and I can’t wait for more!!

Review by Fidah

I’m no stranger to Jane Harvey-Berrick’s writing and yet, I can’t believe she has done it again. I was captivated from the beginning. The detail that goes into describing the carnival while being able to bring across the magical quality is just…remarkable. I was able to feel and appreciate the beauty behind a traveling carnival. I connected with the characters and their love for carnivals. The hard work and effort that happens behind the scenes. With the characters, the whole book came alive for me. It felt real.

I don't want to get into too much detail about the plots but then again, I don't think it's necessary. I don't think enough words can describe just how beautiful the story is. If I had to wrap up the book in one word: precious.

Review by Tatia

The reason I love reading so much is that it's an escape from the real world. I don't have to be mom, wife, chef, maid, etc. This story definitely takes you away and makes you feel like you're seeing and living through someone else's eyes.
Kes and Aimee met when they were kids. He called her a chicken, and as we all know, when you're a kid and someone calls you a chicken you HAVE to prove them wrong. This was the moment everything changed. A bond, a friendship of sorts was formed. Over the years, what started out as a cute, fun friendship eventually evolved in to more. But can "more" work if you only get to see each other two weeks out of the year?
Kes was born and raised in the carnival world, traveling all around and seeing just about everything. He's had no schooling, but you don't need it when the carnival is the only thing you've ever known. You don't know what you're missing.
Aimee on the other hand is from an extremely strict family. You don't disagree or argue with father. You are allowed certain privileges on special days, and getting an education is of most importance.
The way that this story works was beautiful. It's definitely not a story that we see every day. It wasn't just about how two kids met, grew together and fell in love. There is heartache involved as there is with just about every good romance. People get in the way and try to ruin something good, try to manipulate and twist it into something bad. For that reason, I felt horrible for Kes and Aimee. They couldn't catch a break and just be together. This is where you have to hope that fate will step in and fix what was wronged by so many. You have to keep hope that love really can conquer all.
It wasn't all about Kes and Aimee. There were some great secondary characters that helped guide and support them both along the way, ones that I hope to learn more about in the future. They really deserve the chance to tell their story as well.
This was my first book by Jane Harvey-Garrick, and I can tell you for sure that it won't be my last. Her unique writing draws you in to the story and makes you feel like you're experiencing it all with the characters. It all makes for a wonderful story that definitely had its fair share of twists and turns that leaves you guessing and sure to come back for more.
