Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity's notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity likely didn't intend for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity's recollection of the night their family was forever altered.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen's feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife's words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

Review by Erin:

This story was captivating and thrilling. The storyline was incredible, keeping me on my toes. The way the plot twists fit together to create this story was amazing. Just enough information at a time to keep you addicted and needing more. The characters were phenomenal. Three such different people, who in the end only ever wanted the same things out of life. I was hooked from the start. Bam, right out of the gate. No beating around the bush with this story. There is a good deal of suspense in this story and I can freely admit that I jumped a few times. I loved every word!

VERITY TEASER THREE.jpg

Excerpt:
“What are you wearing?” Corey is staring down at my shirt, perplexed, just now noticing it despite having spent the last fifteen minutes with me. I look down at my oversized shirt. For a moment, I forgot how ridiculous I look. “I spilled coffee on my other shirt this morning and had to change.” “Whose shirt is that?” I shrug. “Probably yours. It was in my closet.” “You left your house in that? There wasn’t something else you could have worn?” “It doesn’t look high fashion?” I’m being sarcastic, but he doesn’t catch it. He makes a face. “No. Is it supposed to?” Such an ass. But he’s good in bed, like most assholes. I’m actually relieved when the conference room door opens and a woman walks in. She’s followed, almost comically, by an older man walking so closely behind her, he bumps into the back of her when she stops. “Goddammit, Barron,” I hear her mumble. I almost smile at the idea of Goddammit Barron actually being his name. Jeremy enters last. He gives me a small nod that goes unnoticed by everyone else. The woman is dressed more appropriately than I am on my best day, with short black hair and lipstick so red, it’s a little jarring at nine thirty in the morning. She seems to be the one in charge as she reaches for Corey’s hand, and then mine, while Goddammit Barron looks on. “Amanda Thomas,” she says. “I’m an editor with Pantem Press. This is Barron Stephens, our lawyer, and Jeremy Crawford, our client.” Jeremy and I shake hands, and he does a good job of pretending we didn’t share an extremely bizarre morning. He quietly takes the seat across from me. I try not to look at him, but it’s the only place my eyes seem to want to travel. I have no idea why I’m more curious about him than I am about this meeting. Amanda pulls folders out of her briefcase and slides them in front of Corey and me. “Thank you for meeting with us,” she says. “We don’t want to waste your time, so I’ll cut right to the chase. One of our authors is unable to fulfill a contract due to medical reasons, and we’re in search of a writer with experience in the same genre who may be interested in completing the three remaining books in her series.” I glance at Jeremy, but his stoic expression doesn’t hint at his role in this meeting. “Who is the author?” Corey asks. “We’re happy to go over the details and terms with you, but we do ask that you sign the non-disclosure agreement. We would like to keep our author’s current situation out of the media.” “Of course,” Corey says. I acquiesce, but I say nothing as we both look over the forms and then sign them. Corey slides them back to Amanda. “Her name is Verity Crawford,” she says. “I’m sure you’re familiar with her work.” Corey stiffens as soon as they mention Verity’s name. Of course we’re familiar with her work. Everyone is. I hazard a glance in Jeremy’s direction. Is Verity his wife? They share a last name. He said downstairs that his wife is a writer. But why would he be in a meeting about her? A meeting she isn’t even here for? “We’re familiar with the name,” Corey says, holding his cards close. “Verity has a very successful series we would hate to see go unfinished,” Amanda continues. “Our goal is to bring in a writer who is willing to step in, finish the series, complete the book tours, press releases, and whatever else is normally required of Verity. We plan to put out a press release introducing the new co-writer while also preserving as much of Verity’s privacy as possible.”

HOTSHOT DOC by R.S. Grey • RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW

R.S. Grey's next romantic comedy, HOTSHOT DOC, is available now! Find out more about it below and pick up your copy today!

About HOTSHOT DOC

Dr. Russell has a bad reputation around our hospital. The scrub techs say he’s cold-blooded, the nurses say he’s too cocky for his own good, and the residents say he’s the best surgeon in the world—really, just a swell guy!—on the off chance he’s within earshot.
I try to avoid him and his temper at all costs. It’s just as easy to admire his sexy, grip-it-while-he’s-ravishing-you hair and chiseled jaw from a healthy distance, preferably from the other end of the hallway…half-hidden behind a plant.
Unfortunately, my plan crumbles when my trusty ol’ boss decides to swap his white coat for a Hawaiian shirt. His retirement leaves me with two terrible options: switch specialties and spend months retraining, or take an open position as Dr. Russell’s surgical assistant.
That means I have to stand near him in the OR for hours on end and anticipate his every need without letting his biting words and bad attitude intimidate me. Oh, and as if that’s not difficult enough, my silly crush on him—the one I’ve tried to stomp on until it disappears—might just be reciprocated.
It’s fine.
I’m fine.
I take my job seriously. There will be no smoldering bedroom eyes across the operating table, no angry almost-kisses in the storage closet. (Well, no more of those.)
What’s the phrase? An apple a day keeps the doctor away?
Maybe I should go for a whole damn bushel.

Review by: Stacey

I started this book excited for something new and this story was just what I needed! Dr Russell is not your typical surgeon! He can’t keep an assistant to save his life...he’s known to be a jerk and no one likes to work with him!But poor Bailey gets stuck with that job as her Dr she has assisted has decided to retire and she needs the money to take care of her sister do a jobs a job even it is to work for her crush Dr Russell! But the two don’t hit it off from the start! They have chemistry for sure but Bailey just wants him to give her a pat on the back or say something nice but that’s not how Matt rolls! They have such a great story and I loved seeing it u fold but like all stories there’s a speed bump and is it one they can over come and get through it will they crash and burn???

I swear he thinks every woman in the world would kill for a chance to be with him. Men like Luca are good for one thing only—a one-night stand—not commitment. That is until Luca offers me a deal I can’t refuse, and I agree to be his pretend fiancé. The heat that’s simmered between us for a decade ignites and I’m not sure even Luca will be able to kickstart my heart after I call code blue. What’s that saying? Love is blind? Not true. I can see this head-on collision coming a mile away.

Review by: Flavia

Oh my word, what can I say about this book. I absolutely loved it. I loved Lauren from the start of this series. I loved her take no prisoners attitude I loved her and Luca's back and forth banter with each other. But you knew that deep down they wanted to rip each other's clothes off, lol

Lauren and Luca has a love/hate relationship. He does everything in his power to annoy the crap out of her and she couldn't stand the playboy man whore. But even though she couldn't stand him she couldn't help her feelings toward him either. So when he asked her the Big Question, to give his mother some peace as she is having heart surgery and she doesn't quite approve of his lifestyle what could she do she said yes, which definitely works in her favour as she might be in a bit of a jam herself.

What I love about this story is that even though they both detest each other from the start of the series, it's like they can't deny the attraction they have. And the whole pretend engagement thing just brought out their actual feelings they had, but will they be able to build their relationship after everything is said and done and will they be able to trust each other after all the lies are revealed. I loved this series from the start and this author just got me hooked on her books.

EXCERPT:

The light from the street reflects the humor shining in his eyes. “I’m just sick of the fighting.” “Fighting is what we do best. It’s basically how we communicate.” Then all the puzzle pieces join together in my head. I’m so stupid. “You want something.” We pull up in front of my house just as I realize what a fucking moron I am. “Nope.” He takes the keys, grabs the bag of food and gets out of the car. He’s totally playing me. I might not be a psychologist who can quickly spot a liar, but Luca, I know too well. Not well, but when it comes to our interactions—I know him. And this nice Luca, taking me to a Hawks game, buying me dinner, wanting to eat with me…this isn’t the Luca Bianco I know. I climb out of his car, the slam of the door echoing down the dark residential street. “Tell me what it is you want.” His lips remain straight, not even a hint of a smile or smirk. Another clear sign that this isn’t the Luca I know. “Come on. Let’s eat.” He nods in the direction of my house. “By prolonging whatever it is, you’re just pissing me off, which means if you need something, I’m more than likely going to say no. Or we could play a little game…” “How about we eat?” He waits patiently as I insert the key into my door, disengage the alarm that Cristian, Luca’s brother insisted we get installed. Police officers. Jeez. We step inside and he’s the one to shut the door and flick the lock. “Planning to have your way with me?” I’m not serious as I walk into the kitchen to grab us some drinks, utensils, and napkins. The sound of the television blaring drifts into the kitchen seconds later. With my hands full, I head back into the living room. “Feel free to make yourself at home,” I deadpan, handing Luca a Vitamin Water and a napkin. “Thanks.” He lifts the napkin and drink. “And thanks.” We sit on the couch because although our house is nice and newly redecorated thanks to Maddie’s mad skills, the family room area is small and the best place to see the television is the couch. No worries though, there’s still a cushion between us. I open up my box of food, a little bit of steam hitting my face. “I can’t just sit here and watch soccer with you and not know what you want.” I hate that I’ve had to resort to being sincere in my request. He opens up his own box and I’m a tad jealous I didn’t get the burger. It smells and looks delicious. Luca doesn’t respond, just stands and heads into the kitchen. He knows our house way too well thanks to his brothers always suggesting we meet here when we go out. I pop a cauliflower floret into my mouth, tasting the Korean flavor makes my mouth water. Opening up my Vitamin Water to cool my tongue, I ignore Luca’s return, instead, fixating on the television as he rounds the coffee table in front of me. The couch dips with the weight of his body which is now closer than before. I’ve never been alone with Luca, much less this close. I feel a shift in our volatile relationship like the stillness before a storm. It’s too quiet. It’s too calm. Too…enjoyable. “Here.” My gaze shifts from the television, although I couldn’t tell you the score of the game and I see he’s holding half his burger out to me. “What’s this?” I ask, loading my mouth with another califloret. Man, it’s hot. “I think you had a little bit of drool dripping from your mouth when I opened the container. How about we share?” He smiles. A smile I’ve only ever seen on his face with his friends, or his brothers, and especially his mom. He doesn’t even wear this smile when he’s with girls. At least not that I’ve ever seen. That fact runs around my stomach stirring up the butterflies to max flight. I don’t like this. It’s too damn calm. Where are the eighty mile per hour winds? “Luca, if you don't tell me what you want, I’m going to kick you out of my house.” I take half the burger and slide my cauliflower and fries closer to him as an offering. “You can’t just wait?” he asks, seeming disappointed. “HA!” I point to him with a greasy finger. “You do want something from me. Tell me what it is.” “You’re ridiculous you know that, right? A normal person would wait.” I shake my head. “No, they wouldn’t.” See, this feels good. This feels right. “LUCA!” I scream. He blows out a breath. “Fine. I need a favor from you.”

ACROSS THE HORIZON by Aly Martinez - RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW

BLURB:

“Sometimes love happens when you least expect it.” That was what my husband’s mistress told me the day I found out about their affair.

I didn’t believe it until five minutes later when mouth-watering celebrity chef Tanner Reese walked up, tossed his arm around my shoulders, and told my cheating husband to take a hike. Tanner and I couldn’t have been more different. He spent his weekends at clubs, rubbing elbows with fellow A-listers. I spent mine in yoga pants with cheese boards and a glass of wine—or six. Our relationship shouldn’t have worked, but it did. That is until Tanner proved to me that even though love happens when you least expect it... So does heartbreak.

Review by: Flavia

OMG I loved this book. I didn't even read the blurb, when I saw this I just said YES, I mean its Aly Martinez. Didn't know what to expect but this author really delivered.
Rita Hartley just found out the worst thing ever her husband has been having an affair. And instead of wanting to work it out or taking him back, she wanted out. She wanted a divorce (my kinda girl). But she still had to see the douchebag everyday as they worked together. At a work function she runs into Tanner Reese. The sexy hot celebrity chef.
Tanner is on a break from women. Reason being he always attracts the physcos. Every time so he is on a break, until he hears a women say no to some dude who wont let her go. From the second he meets and helps Rita he is lost. She is everything he needs a women, she is sassy, sexy and takes no nonsense and she treats him like a normal person, not the celebrity but like Tanner Reese.
This story was filled with laughter, emotion, disappointment, heartbreak, awesome chemistry and seriously so much more. You will fall in love with this book from the start and all you want to do is root for both of these characters to have their happily ever after.

“Sometimes fate brings you to a place in life for a reason. It’s not up to you to figure out what that reason is. It’s only up to you to decide what you’re going to make of it.”

This is one of my favorite books of 2018! I can say that because it’s almost the end of the year. I’ll even go a step further and say this is one of my most favorite books EVER!! Ms. Martinez created a story that was not only sweet, semi-realistic, and funny, but incredibly addicting! I had this huge smile on my face the entire time I was reading! I couldn’t put it down. Tanner and Rita were the perfect match. They balanced each other out, calmed each other’s crazy, and obliterated all of their doubts about a relationship. They were real. They didn’t try to hide the insane lives they had or even downplay the insanity. They just relaxed each other and we’re nothing but true to themselves. That’s not to say that there wasn’t an insane amount of crazy that they each had to deal with, but it made this story PERFECT! I want more! I want this story to continue on into eternity. It was just that amazing!

EXCERPT:
I shifted the phone to my other ear and asked her, “Did you just get in bed?” “If, by bed, you mean carrying a glass of wine out back to swing in the hammock, maybe.” I bit my bottom lip, my head falling back against the headrest. For most men, this would have been an innocuous statement. But for a hammock connoisseur like myself, this was the normal guy equivalent of her saying that she liked to give blowjobs during halftime. “You have a hammock out back?” There was a delay in her response, which was followed by a subtle kiss of her lips on what I assumed was a wine glass. “Don’t knock it until you try it. It’s one of the most underrated luxuries in outdoor furniture.” “Oh, I’m not knocking anything. Rope or quilted?” “Mayan, actually.” “Oh, sweet heavenly baby Jesus, she’s beautiful and knows her hammocks. I’ve never been so turned on in my life.” She giggled, pausing for another sip. “You know, if you leaked this hammock fetish to the press, you could probably increase demand by five million percent and singlehandedly lower the country’s unemployment rate.” Okay, so at some point during the day, she’d figured out who I was. But! Even with this knowledge, she was trying to avoid a date with me and was not elbow-deep in planning our televised wedding. This was a definite plus in my book. “Yeah, but then, when I talked to beautiful women like yourself, I’d have no idea if the hammock was your idea or a ploy to impress me.” “Jeez, that’s sad, Tanner,” she said, her sweet Southern accent like a wave rolling over my name. I’d meant it as a joke, but it was the absolute truth when it came to dating. Early on in my career, I’d done a rapid-fire interview about my personal life. One of the questions had been: What would your ideal woman order on the first date? Truth be told, the only thing I hoped my ideal woman would order was something she wanted. I didn’t factor into that. But I’d been on my last question in my last interview of the last day of a month-long press tour. My face had hurt from fake smiling, I’d been in desperate need of a shower, a smoke, and sleep, and my mind had been mush, so I’d prattled off the first thing that had come to mind: shrimp and grits. That one little answer somehow made it onto my Wiki page, and after that, every woman I’d taken out ordered shrimp and grits. One of them even had a shellfish allergy and nearly ended up in the hospital. And this insanity was not limited to women outside of the spotlight. I’d once gone on a date with America’s princess of pop, Levee Williams. We’d hit it off at a charity event. For one of the most famous women in the world, she was a surprisingly nice girl, gorgeous, and funny as all get out. But the first time I took her out? One guess what she ordered. I was at the end of my rope with dating and lost my freaking mind before storming out like an asshole. That night, as I was reporting shrimp and fucking grits as an error to Wiki, I noticed that her page listed it as her favorite food. I’d never had the balls to contact her again, and I once hid behind a palm tree on Rodeo Drive when I heard the clamoring of paparazzi calling her name. But that’s neither here nor there. In short, while finding a woman was all too easy, dating was hard. But that wasn’t about to stop me from trying with Rita.

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children. Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person. She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.

Jock Rule is part 2 in the series (i just found that out and I absolutely want to read book 1) but knowing it's a series I would have Never known ..I started this book and loved Kip & Teddy. They couldn’t be any more different.....Kip is a huge, smart ass, manly, an athlete that is hairy like a Sasquatch but underneath it all he is a man with a heart of gold! Teddy is a poor, smart, adorable college student surviving on her grants and scholarships to get by! She has awful friends that take advantage of her and Kip is the first person to see that and wants to help her with that and so much more! They meet and start a weird friendship but with time they take things past the friend zone but is that smart??? Is that what they both want or is it just meant to be???

Thanks, Sara Ney for a fun, sexy and addicting read!

I can't say much about this book, because it was so good. I loved the first book and this one, kept my attention from the start
Two people from opposite sides finding their way to each other. But life isn't always that easy.
Kip is a college rugby player a rich kid who is hiding behind his outer appearance. Teddy is from the opposite side. A hard working college student who doesn't have a lot of confidence and thinks she doesn't fit in with her friends. Until she meets Kip and I think once she met him she finally found her place and where she fits in with life and her friends.
Lots of swoony romantic dreamy funny moments that will have you fall in love with both of these characters. I love this book and I hope there are more in this series. If you haven't started this series yet, you are missing out :-)
