Keeton Pearce hadn’t lived a life full of supportive, loving family…

In fact, it was just the opposite.

He had been on his own for so long he had no idea what it felt like to belong. He didn’t want to rehash the life he left behind, or even think about it. But the hate from his father followed him, slowly eating away at the life he had begun to build for himself.

Olivia Sawyer had been prepped on how to deal with the advances of those college men she would encounter…
After all, she had been surrounded by three alpha men who made sure she knew just how to handle herself. But when she met Keeton Pearce, all those words of warning flew right out the window.
For the first time she had nothing to say. She was caught up in those eyes and that dimple.
The Sawyer attitude no longer gave her the ability to be immune.
Neither of them counted on meeting each other. It was by chance, and no one expected that one moment would change their lives forever.
For the first time in his life, Keeton had hope.
He felt like he had found where he belonged.
But would he survive the interrogation of an overprotective father and the watchful eyes of Jackson and Noah?
Or would Keeton run for the hills, fearful of…
the Sawyer Brothers?

Review by: Erin

OMG!!! I love this series! The Sawyer Brothers are at it again! I knew that with Olivia’s history, the storyline had to be incredible. Keeton is everything I had hoped for. Olivia is a take-no-sh*t kind of girl. I love her personality. She tells it like it is and is not afraid to stand up for herself. Or tattle, if necessary (lol). My god, this girl rocks! Keeton is amazing. He has a horrible family and he has battled to be better. The connection they have is phenomenal. Of course, they have amazing chemistry as well. But this story is about more than that. It is about finding that love of a lifetime. That ONE. This story also has a lot of humor as well. But when you are talking about the Sawyer brothers, Amber, Bailey, and Olivia, I expect that. I love the way this family is always there for each other, but also hilarious at the same time. I am so ready for the next book. And maybe a spin-off series. The Sawyers have to have some cousins somewhere, right?

Reviews by: Leeann

If you have read any of the Sawyer Brothers series, you will know who Olivia is. She is the eldest daughter of Ryan.
She is also the eldest niece of Jackson & Noah… She is their princess & heaven help any man who thinks he can waltz right into her life without
some sort of grief from her father & uncles!!

Keeton has had a crap life. His father is a drunk & so is his brother. They have bullied him, abused him & belittled him his whole life.
Now he has met Olivia & her family & he finally feels loved, accepted & part of something he has never had before.

This young couple are so full of promise & hope for a brilliant future. They each bring so much love and respect to their relationship and perfectly
balance each other out. There is nothing they can’t do together.
Olivia is a strong woman who knows what she wants & accepts no less. There are some moments, particularly when she tries to put her dad & uncles in their
places that are laugh out loud funny! She has an amazing ability to make people feel at ease but she wears her emotions on her face. There is no hiding what she is feeling.
Even though Keeton has had a shocking upbringing he has grown into an amazing young man who loves with everything he has. He will do anything in the world to make his girl
happy & he understands where her over protective family are coming from.
Throughout the course of the story you see a young man who discovers that not only is he worthy and deserving of love, but that he can also give love freely without fear of
rejection or humiliation.

As with all of the books in this series, this story is about an all-consuming love and romance. It is about kindness, loyalty & family & about knowing no matter what there is always someone who has got your back.
When you have a family like the Sawyers, you are never alone in the world.

It will help you understand the background if you read the 1st 3 books in this series but this book can be read as a standalone too & it will still make sense.
Great all round read!!

Aleksio Don’t look at me like that. So trusting. Like you think I’m not a monster. Like I won’t wrap your hair in my fist and bend you to my will. Like I won’t sacrifice you, piece by piece, to save my brother. I’m the most dangerous enemy you’ll ever have because every time you look at me, you see somebody good. That friend who died. And when you look at me like that, I die again. Mira I spent years making myself invisible. A good girl, apart from the noise. Then you came back, beautiful and deadly in your Armani suit. Don’t look at me like you still know me, you say. But I remember your smile and those sunny days. Before they lowered your small casket into the ground. Before they told us the prince was dead.

Review by: Leeann

So we have Aleksio who is supposed to be dead ad Mira who is the daughter of the man who is supposed to have gotten rid of him and his entire family when  he was just 9 years old. Interesting match..

This was an overall good read. There were some moments that had me scratching my head a bit but they weren't significant enough to take away from what was happening in the overall big picture.
The story is fast paced and action packed. There is no real down time for these characters. They are on the go right from the beginning.

The support characters are an odd bunch and quite entertaining although some of them were a bit trusting of their captive!
Mira comes across initially as a  strong woman but when it comes down to it, the two people she loves most in the world are at war with each other and she is smack bang in the middle. She is torn and confused and really doesn't know who to trust.
Aleksio is many things, but a liar is not one of them. He has grown up learning how to be tough and manipulative but he finds when it comes to Mira, he just can't carry though with his threats.. his love for her is too strong.
Viktor, Aleksio's younger brother has no such feelings. He is ruthless and more than willing to go on a killing spree to get them what they want. He is actually quite unpredictable and therefore scary.

During their quest to get to Aleksio and Viktor's baby brother before the bad guys do, they learn alot about themselves, their pasts and each other. Secrets are revealed and the scars run deep. There are some sexual tensions and situations, but the story is not over taken with it.

If you like fast paced, action packed and highly entertaining stories with a high level of mystery thrown in,  you will definitely enjoy this book!

It is a standalone and does not end on a cliffhanger, but the quest does continue in book 2.

Review by: Kim

I've been a fan of this author for awhile now. Her characters always come to life and seem to leap off the pages to pull you into their world.
Bound Beneath His Pain is a heartbreaking story about a man who wants certain things in his life. He needs them really to feel fulfilled. Except early on he learned a hard lesson; That the things he needs to make his life complete aren't "good" and only deliver damage to those who he loves or respects.
This book is also about a woman who works hard and lives a simple life just because she can. Money, power, moving up in the world hold no attraction for her. Walks in the park on a warm summer day, eating hot dogs from a street vendor and watching bad T.V on a Saturday night are the things that Allie loves. Even though she has the means to have all the finer things in life.
This book is also full of secrets and lies.
Stacey Kennedy gives us Micah Holt. He's a billionaire who's worked hard for the things he has. He's also broken in a way that made me wonder if he could ever be healed.
I've never met a Gentleman Dom before and now that I have...Well, Micah is just yummy.
Allie is sweet and sassy and she's not afraid to stand her ground and reach for what she wants.
There were some contradictions in this book, but they were small and easily overlooked for the flow of the story.
Read this, promise you won't be disappointed.

BROOKS by Chelsea M. Cameron • BLOG TOUR, EXCERPT & REVIEW

BROOKS by Chelsea M. Cameron is now available!!

BLURB:
Brooks Benson is bored, stuck and miserable. When both his parents were unable to continue running the variety store, he dropped out of college and came back home to help. It’s been almost two years and he’s tired of making pizzas and selling scratch tickets to the locals of Hope Harbor, Maine. But as the second oldest Benson brother, he’s the one that stepped up. Now all he can see is a gray future in front of him.

Remington “Remi” Tate is disappointed, frustrated and out of options. After dropping out of college and trying to make a go of it in New York, she’s forced to come back home to live with her parents in Hope Harbor. Totally humiliating. Things are looking pretty grim until she starts baking again and runs into Brooks when she visits Benson Variety to ask if they’ll sell her whoopie pies, cakes, and cookies.

What was once a high school crush is now something much more mature that hits both of them like a ton of bricks. Brooks is game, as long as they keep things physical. which is just fine with Remi. She’s not planning on sticking around Hope Harbor forever and Brooks is definitely a lifer. They’re just two different to ever build something that could last.

Life rarely goes according to plan and what starts as just sex soon turns into something that splashes color into their once-drab lives. For the first time, they find peace and security in one another. But will it last? Or will everything crumble into pieces, leaving them with nothing?

Review by: Erin

This story was wonderful. There were parts where I laughed till I cried. There were other parts that were pretty emotional. Both characters are very complex and have some of the same issues going on in their lives. The storyline was amazing. Both characters dealing with futures that didn’t pan out the way they were hoping. Brooks has an incredible family. I loved reading about them. I am hoping they will all get their HEA’s. I felt really bad about Remi’s relationship with her mother. Brooks and Remi together is magic. I love that their story took its time and wasn’t on a race to the finish. All the getting to know you was incredible. I will definitely have my eyes open for the next book in the series.

EXCERPT

Of course, because this was a small damn town and everyone couldn’t keep their traps shut, my mom found out that I’d talked to Brooks and wouldn’t shut up about how good-looking he was and how he’d come back from college to help his family and how wonderful he was and how great he would be to sire offspring. I had to listen, because she always talked to me when I was doing something else and couldn’t escape.

So he was good-looking. All those Benson kids were, for some reason. Good genes, probably. That didn’t mean anything. He was a total asshole. I couldn’t stand him and I was going to do whatever I could to avoid him as much as possible. I’d have to see him at least a few times a week when I dropped off new treats and settled up with him, but that was it. My mom had gotten it into her head that she wanted Brooks Benson as a son-in-law and wouldn’t stop telling me I should “make an effort” with him.
———

“Well, it’s not every day a cute girl hugs me out of the blue, so I’ll count today in the win column,” I said. She looked down at her shoes and laughed just a little.

“Yeah, well, it’s not every day that I throw myself at people.” She cleared her throat and I offered to carry the boxes in for her again. She agreed, then she went through the ritual of setting everything up. I got the numbers together for her and counted out what she’d earned. Her eyes got big as I handed the cash over.

“Are you sure this is the right amount?’ I counted it again and she scanned the numbers.

“To the cent,” I said, pointing to the change in her hand that I’d passed over.

“Wow,” she said before she folded up the money and shoved it in her back pocket.

“Sooo, I’ll see you on Tuesday?” she said.

“Better make it Monday. I sold out on Friday and didn’t have any left, so you might want to either make more so I can restock for you, or come more often. It’s up to you.” She thought about that for a minute, chewing on her lip.

“I guess I can come on Monday. And I’ll bring more. My mom is going to LOVE me monopolizing the kitchen for the entire weekend.” I opened my mouth to tell her she was welcome at the Benson house, but I didn’t know how she would take that, so I kept my mouth shut. Then I had another idea.

“You could come here. I have a regular oven in addition to the pizza oven in the back,” I said, pointing with my thumb. “You could bring your ingredients and store them. Baking it here would make the store smell amazing, plus you could sell them yourself. I’m not sure I did a very good job.” Her eyes narrowed as if she was looking for how this could be a trap.

Review by: Leeann

This book is both heartbreaking & overwhelmingly full of hope. It is a true rags to riches story.

4 years ago Quinn took her sister Bethy & went on the run. She was just a kid herself & she suddenly found herself on the streets and having to look after her baby sister.
But the reality is that if she didn’t, she & her sister would be much worse off than they are now.
They have learnt to get by & survive even when at times things are harder than they ever imagined & she just wants to give up!

Andrew has more money than you can poke a stick at. He has so much that a measly 10K is pocket change to him. The first time he meets Quinn he decides she is his.
He will do anything in his power to get her & keep her.
He thinks he is a heartless soul who wants what he wants when he wants it but, as the story progresses a different side to him comes out & he shows how swoon worthy he really is.

This is one of those books where you find yourself thinking WTF? Where is these girls mother in all this. The truth is shocking.
I loved these two as a couple. They complement each other in a way neither of them either imagines & it is sweet an beautiful.
The sexy in this book is damn hot & the emotion is real.

I loved Andrews protective streak. He will do anything in his power to protect those he loves & he proves it time and time again.
Their relationship is complex & overpowering. Quinn is a strong woman. She has had to be & I loved that the first time Andrew tried to get her to accept his way of life, she stood right up to him & held her ground.
She is determined to do things her way. Her love for him is all consuming and almost rivals the love she has for her little sister.

The way they met is unconventional at best, but this story shows that when true love is involved, it really doesn’t matter how, when, where or why. If it is meant to be then it just is.

This is a new author to me & I absolutely loved this book. I will be looking to read more of her work in the near future.
