Chase by Chantal Fernando and Dawn Marten review

Chase (Resisting-love #1)

Chantal Fernando and Dawn Marten

Moving in with a guy you only met once? Stupid.
But for student Layla Crawford, this was reality.
Chase Jackson is a renowned playboy and self professedcommitment phobe, that is until he meets Layla.
Blinded by his intensity to have her, Chase will stop at nothing to make her his.

With a jealous ex and old conquests repeatedly making appearances, Chase' s skeletons come out of the closet one by one, each one pushing Layla further and further away.

Layla is determined to keep her distance. Chase now has to convince the only woman he has ever wanted that he is worth the gamble.

REVIEW:

Layla is a student and wanting to rent a room after several failed attempts, she finds a house with 3 guys who have a room for cheap rent. (HOT, SEXY, FUNNY Men)….what more can a girl ask for!! Layla has a sweet & innocentpersonality, just don’t piss her off. The relationship betweenKade, James and Layla is fantastic; I loved the way theybanter on like siblings.

“You have a fucking hot body. I don’t mind enjoying this view every morning.” Kade says, his gaze roaming to places it shouldn’t.

“My eyes are up here you perve!” I hiss.

Chase isn’t around the house much in the beginning, he had a crush on Layla 3 years ago and when he spots her again he MUST have her. Chase is HOT, SEXY and very POSSESSIVE, a true player until he meets his dream girl.

~I keep staring at her, hoping for her to glance up.
To notice me.
To see if she feels this attraction I'm feeling for her her.
I've never felt anything like it.
More than lust.
Something.. else.
Something the makes me want to protect her, cherish her.
I know I don't deserve her.
But that doesn't mean I'll stop wanting her.~

The love story of Chase and Layla has its up’s and down’s and boy does it have some HOT make up sessions.

The flow of the book is great; once you start reading you’re hooked and can’t put it down.

Kade has his own book and I can’t wait to read it. James is getting his own book as well and be sure to put it on my TBR list.

Overall I loved the book and recommend anyone to read it. I loved the style of writing, straight to the point it had Romance, Laughter and Drama.

I give it 4 out 5 stars!

Love Thy Neighbour review :)

Love Thy Neighbour Review

*** second book in the Friend-Zoned series***

Asher ‘Ghost’ Collins and Natalie Kovac shared a passionate night together. One neither of them can forget.

Why is it so hard for them to be around each other?

With no hope of the two getting along they decide to go their separate ways. And somehow end up closer than they’ve ever been.

Will friendship be enough for the pair?

REVIEW:

In Friend-Zoned we were introduced to Asher and Natalie, however throughout that book I didn’t automatically fall in love with them, especially ‘Ghost’. However in Love Thy Neighbour, I fell in love from the very beginning! Asher is not what you see in Friend-Zoned and ends up being this passionate and considerate guy that has had troubles but would do anything for the one he loves!

I don’t make us this way, Nat. You do. Ever since we… You’ve been ten times the bitch you normally are. What you don’t get is that does something to me. It makes me want to bend you over another table and pound you into submission. Because that works with you. From a tiger to a mewing kitten. And I like that side to you. I like all sides of you, pretty girl. You think you’re putting me off with this supreme bitch act? Nope, all you’re doing is making me hard.” – Asher Love Thy Neighbour

Ghost walking away from me leaves me feeling alone and bitter. Why did I do that? Because you’d fall for the broken man which would leave you lonely, regardless – Nat Love They Neighbour

Natalie has her reserves and comes off as being the one to hold back their relationship; however deep down she wants the family and kids that every girl wants she is just afraid of getting hurt!

This book shows love, anger, passion, laughter and tears! Belle Aurora captures every emotion you want to feel from the characters and portrays it in the perfect way! She shows you how strong friendship is and that Tina and Nat would do anything for each other.

This book made you laugh with the characters, made you cry for them and made you truly wish for everything to work out for them!

This book doesn’t leave you on a cliffhanger however; it does leave you wanting to read the rest of the Friend-Zoned series. I honestly cannot wait for Max’s story!

This book is definitely a must read and deserves 5 stars

Good Work Belle!

Demanding Ransom Review

Demanding Ransom – by Megan Squires

Blurb:
Sometimes life takes things away from you.

In nineteen-year-old Maggie Carson’s case, it’s taken more than its fair share.

Determined to move forward, Maggie embarks on her first year of college, hoping to finally put her past behind her, exactly where it belongs.
But that’s hard to do when the present is just as difficult. And even harder when someone like Ran, the gorgeous paramedic that keeps crossing Maggie’s path, challenges her to face things head on, rather than bury them like she always does.

Ran hasn’t had a perfect life either. But there’s something different about him, and something different about the way he makes Maggie feel. Maybe meeting Ran is life’s little gift for Maggie—a sort of consolation prize for enduring everything she's had to go through.

But things don’t come easy for Maggie. Why should love be the exception? And just when everything starts to settle, it’s all turned on its head once again.

If there is one thing Ran has taught Maggie, it’s that you can’t sit on the sidelines of your own existence. When life takes something that’s yours, you have every right to demand it back.

Only for Maggie, that is easier said than done.

Review
“When life takes something that is yours, you have every right to demand it back!”

Maggie is very family orientated despite her mother walking out on their family, and would do anything for her dad and brother, especially now that her brother has been diagnosed with cancer. She can’t imagine loosing Mikey and wants to be there for him!
Within this book Maggie deals with a variety of different emotions from having guilt to anger and love. But no matter what, Ran is always there to help her through the tough times and also help her forgive and move on.
“It’s scary Maggie. I told you I’m good at patching things up – I can help you with your mom. But I can’t completely fix you – that’s going to come from within. I can’t do that for you.”
This book was all about forgetting the past and looking at the future. Not letting your past define you and being able to choose how you want to spend your life and with who.

Throughout the book Maggie realizes that her mother abandoning her and Mikey had nothing to do with them, she just didn’t care to be a mother. Maggie sees firsthand that her mother isn’t there for her new family than she was for her and Mikey. Maggie can finally find some peace within herself in regards to her mother and can move on.

Maggie’s life finally seems to be going on track until another obstacle is thrown in her way and Maggie doesn’t feel like she can fight it anymore and decides maybe it’s better to have loved for a little while than face rejection. However this book shows that true love shines through.

“I have a right to love just as much as anyone else. I would have done anything to get that back”
This book was one of very few that made me laugh and cry and really connect with Maggie and Ran. I wanted their love to shine through and for them both to finally catch the break they both deserved. I can’t wait for Maggie and Ran’s story to continue in Ransom’s Note coming early 2014!
“I can’t fall in love with you again, Maggie… Because that would mean there was a time that I fell out of love with you… And that never happened … I fell fast, and I fell forever, too.”
